An introduction to Caduceus decentralized edge rendering technology — how does it work and what are its key components?

Decentralized edge rendering is the latest tech development to be making waves in the Metaverse with its promise to overhaul and rewrite the construction method — bringing about much needed innovation in different Metaverse worlds. Allowing developers to create more sophisticated applications, the technology will usher in a much more realistic depiction of real-life items created through its digital assets.

The edge computing service which is responsible for this reconstruction is placing computing at the very edge of each data source, and in doing so, is providing a direct link to data and more scientific and efficient services.

Distributed node storage:

Distributed node storage encrypts information and stores it in the form of blocks on servers in different nodes around the world. Each server stores only a part of the encrypted information, which ensures the privacy and security of information.

If any information is required the individual components will be retrieved and downloaded from each server. These are then combined and restored into a complete piece of information through an encryption programming algorithm. This not only ensures secure storage, but also minimises congestion with download times as the information is being retrieved and stored from different servers.

Edge nodes:

Edge nodes are the connecting hubs between the physical and digital worlds. The computing tasks of edge computing are completed by the edge nodes, edge gateways, or routers — and in doing so it is challenging how to allocate and schedule computing tasks in a dynamic network through edge computing. Caduceus is overcoming these challenges by designing network architecture, deploying edge computing nodes, and optimally allocating computing and storage resources on the edge of the network.

Edge Side Rendering (ESR):

With the help of edge computing capabilities of the Content Delivery Network (CDN), Caduceus successively returns static content and dynamic content to users in streaming mode. The static element relies on the caching capability of the CDN, which is returned to the user first, and then continues to initiate dynamic data requests on the CDN node — splicing it after the static part, before continuing to stream. The advantages to this are as follows:

1.Time To First Byte (TTFB):

Static data is cached in the CDN, delivering a faster return to the developer.

2. First Paint (FP):

After static data is returned, the parsing of HTML and the downloading and execution of JS and CSS can be started.

3. First Meaningful Paint (FMP):

Data request is initiated in the CDN making the FMP speedy and efficient. This takes out the direct connection between the developer and the storage node, reducing TCP connection establishment and network transmission.


Decentralized edge rendering is the ultimate technology to optimise high rendering performance in a wide range of technological scenarios. With the help of edge computing, rendering time will be optimised on the basis of server-side rendering (SSR), and the waiting time for users will be reduced.
